Kyso is a platform that data scientists can connect with their technical tools (Github, Jupyter notebooks, etc..) to publish their research in a way that is continuously available to the whole company and at the same time contains updated data.
One of the biggest constraints we had is that we have been using a components library that only allowed for certain modifications, therefor I had to create a style guide to match the already existing style of many components.
After defining a new style guide, I redesigned most components so that the Frontend engineer had a clear library to use as reference. I also helped build most of the components by coding using Nextjs + StorybookUI (Html + CSS + Javascript).
I started redesigning the UI based on the new colour scheme, typography, and slightly different navigation patterns to make it more user friendly. The first iteration of the new product design was meant to improve navigation and facilitate users to take their first steps in the platform, specifically by creating teams, connecting their Github account and sharing their first report. These are some of the screens after the UI revamp. It’s still a product in the MVP phase, but it shows how much can change with only a few stylistic tweaks.
